BPBible

BPBible 0.5 Beta 3 contains all of the changes in the first two betas, which are listed here and here. It also features a large number of usability improvements and bug fixes over Beta 2. These changes are all listed below.

Restoring support for 0.4.7 features

If you follow a cross-reference and then go back to the original passage, it will now return to the place you were in that passage rather than the currently selected verse.

The Windows builds of the first two betas had stemming search disabled. This has been re-enabled.

Improvements

Changed the dictionary topic titles to try and display the topic name in title case rather than all uppercase.

If a scripture tooltip contains adjacent verses (e.g. 1 Kings 5:3, 4), then these verses will be displayed in one block rather than as one separate block for each verse.

The chapter bar up the top of the Bible window updates the current chapter as the window is scrolled.

Changed the settings of where to find books to be stored in the user's home directory rather than in the application directory.

Stopped it from reloading all linked book windows when the current Bible version used has been changed.

Changed reloading linked book windows so that it only happens after the passage has been loaded in the Bible window, to make looking up the reference more responsive.

Changed the continuous scrolling to remove items that have scrolled a long way off screen, so that the amount of content displayed doesn't keep getting bigger and bigger forever and the scrollbar get smaller and smaller to match.

Bug fixes

Fixed bugs which led to the "BPBible has detected an error" being frequently displayed when the program was closed.

Fixed a bug where copy verses would not work if BPBible was using copy verse templates from 0.4.7.

Made chapter headings and the list of topics for the dictionary display correctly for non-English texts.

Fixed a bug which made it impossible to view the book information when installing a new book.

Fixed a bug where continuous scrolling would stop working for some dictionary entries.

Fixed a bug where clicking on a book in the Set Fonts window would change that book to be the current book of that type for the application.

Fixed a bug which prevented drag and drop book installation onto any of the book windows from working.

Fixed a bug which meant that the same article would be loaded multiple times in a dictionary as the name was being typed in.

Fixed bugs which meant that focus could be lost in windows like the dictionary window and the search frame.

Fixed a bug where poetry lines would be run together without line breaks when copying verses in plain text.

Fixed the formatting of poetry when copying formatted to remove excess space.

Made the copy verses dialog show exactly which formatting would be copied when copying formatted. Also made it use the correct font when copying formatted.

Fixed a bug where if there were a few references from Psalms in a topic tag, the contents of the topic tooltip could slowly be indented further and further out.

Fixed a bug which caused BPBible to crash when indexing a book for searching in Portuguese.

Fixed a bug where language specific fonts were not being used.

Fixed display issues in "Guess the Verse".

Fixed a bug which caused the mouse cursor on initial startup to continue to show busy until the mouse was moved.
