I have downloaded the new version (0.4) but it doesn't work!
The program don't start at all: any suggestion? Thanx!

Response: il Monco, could you please provide us with more details? Were you running BPBible, or BPBible Portable? Which operating system are you using? Anything special with e.g. language configuration? Was it updated from 0.3.1 or earlier, or a fresh installation? How far did it get into start up - did you see the splash screen? Also please provide any other juicy facts which might help us to diagnose the problem :-)
Sorry it doesn't work straight off, though :-(

I use BPBible Portable, my OS is Windows xp SP3, language english, fresh installation, the splash screen comes after 2-3 seconds at start up, version 0.3.1 worked nicely...:-(
Curious. It's not loading the wx libraries - could you try looking in the event viewer (run %WINDIR%\System32\eventvwr.msc) and see if there are any entries being put in there?
It's possible this was broken when compacting the libraries for the portable version. Just out of interest, is this 64bit winXP?
Hi Chris, I have the identical problem on my laptop. but the same portable install works on two other desktop comuters.
BPBible_Portable_0.4.paf.exe Version 0.4.0.0
The splashscreen loads, and almost instantly the error window pops up behind the splashscreen saying that Errors have occured, and that i should check bpbible.exe.log.

The interesting thing is that the same USB-Stick installation worked perfectly fine on two different desktop pc's (i'll write their exact details tomorrow) both desktops are possibly using WINXP SP2? i have reinstalled the program several times from the laptop to two different USB-Sticks, with all possible options (with and without installing bibles during install) and nothing works on this laptop. i have just installed the non-portable version (bpbible-0.4-setup.exe) and it works perfectly. the only thing i haven't tried yet is to go back to the same desktops and see if it still loads there.
this is a great program, and it has a very simple and intuitive layout, i would be happy to help you as much as i can to solve this problem because it's a truelly interesting application to make portable!
Cheers, Charles

You need msvcp71.dll - most computers will have this, but a few won't. Presumably the installed version has this, so you can copy it from there into the BPBiblePortable\App\BPBible directory. Could you please try this. Sorry for this.

Eee PC?
Are you using XP on an Eee PC? We seem to have the same issue reported here.

Try this
I did what I should have done first; searched for the error on google.
This is probably the solution here: http://forum.opensubtitles.org/viewtopic.php?t=881
