Guess the verse suggestion

First of all I’d like to say that the Guess the Verse feature is a great addition to the tool. I’ve been planning to develop something like that but I guess you folks beat me to the punch. I have a few suggestions that you might want to consider:

  1. Show Correct Answer button: That’s be helpful if you want to note down the verse… uhm… coordinates? (is that what that’s called?) It’s frustrating specially if you want to look at the verse in context and you can’t figure out where it came from. (And I usually can’t find where it came from without using search :s)
  2. Guess the verse difficulty levels: For “advanced” users, they could choose to guess the exact verse instead of just the book where it came from. :D
  3. Memory Verse Feature: How about showing a verse and they’d guess what that verse is? Like Matthew 5:27, then you’d have a text field where you could type the verse and a button at the bottom labeled Check Answer. Clicking on that button reveals the contents of the verse.

That’s pretty much it for that. I like the 0.4, I like the new search features :D. Plus the dropdown on the commentary to quickly change from one commentary to another is awesome! The tagging feature is also a wonderful addition to the app. I love this app when I first used and I’m loving it even more. Wonderful, wonderful work guys. Thanks so much for you work. May God continue to bless you with what you’re doing.

Good suggestions. Some at

Good suggestions. Some at least of these were planned, but time constraints stopped them being in 0.4

1. A show correct answer is definitely a good idea
2. Difficulty levels were dropped off due to time constraints...
3. This was one I didn't think of; possibly a little support for the verse (i.e. 1/5 of the words there) could go a long way - e-Sword has a few different ways of doing memory verses.

Especially related to 3, though applicable to the rest, being able to pull the set of verses to select from from a verse list, or search range, would help. Filtering to OT/NT or prophets or gospels, or to verses on salvation, would improve it.

a couple more suggestions

I am liking these suggestions, just had a couple more I thought I would add:

1. Make the 'correct' and 'incorrect' messages look different, so that you don't actually have to read the message to know whether you got it right or wrong - maybe sometime you could even add some beautiful music if you get it right first time... ;) (I know how much you love music)
2. Give an option to view the context of the verse - maybe 2-5 verses each side of the verse to be guessed.

Re your comment 3. If you are working with options of verses from different lists, how about being able to do it for all verses with a certain tag?

OK, I've updated it slightly

OK, I've updated it slightly (more changes will have to wait...):
1. Incorrect will now display an error icon
2. I've added a Show Answer button. This will show the answer, then go on to a new verse.
