BPBible Portable 0.4.7 not working on Win7 64bit

Hi Guys,

I reported the same error for 0.4.5 but then I had no error to report. The work around is to run the program in win xp terminal elmulator. But now, after installing an running the latest version, I found the following error message in the log file. Hope it helps you to solve the problem.

Error message from logfile...

BPBible 0.4.5.1 Portable not working under Win7

Hi,

Noticed something strange. BPBible doesn't work on my Win7 64bit laptop, although the previous version worked under win vista 64bit. It starts, the splash is shown and then it shutsdown without warning or error. The same behaviour was seen on the winXP 32bit laptop of my wife. Both laptops have the latest updates installed.

"Bookmarks" capability in BPBible?

Is it possible to bookmark where I leave off my reading?

Tried both raw and windows zip.

I've installed modules before.

Running in Linux

Trying to follow guide here: http://code.google.com/p/bpbible/wiki/RunningBPBible

I've downloaded the sword engine from SVN, svn co https://crosswire.org/svn/sword/trunk/ sword

In the directory sword/bindings/swig/package, I've run ./autogen.sh, then ./configure, then make pythonswig and get this:

mkdir -p python
python -c++ -shadow -o python/Sword.cxx -I. -I/usr/include/sword ./sword.i
File "", line 1
++
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
make: [pythonswig] Error 1 (ignored)

Is there something I'm missing?

Formatting of Bible text

Hi, thanks for the great program.

Paragraph alignment for Chinese Text

Hi,
I am currently using BPBible 0.4.4. When displaying the Chinese text in paragraph format, the text did not wrapped around correctly. Many lines have the subscript line number as the final character of a verse with many blank spaces following. The first character of the verse will display on a new line.

Here is a sample from Psalm 1 as appeared on my screen:

1 ???????????????????????????????? 2
??????????????????????????? 3
????????????????????????????????????? 4
???????????????????? 5
????????????????????????????????? 6
???????????????????????

Finding unicode Greek fonts that work

One way to improve this already excellent software is to add a wiki item on finding and installing fonts that display Greek properly, particularly accented characters. After considerable searching and surfing the web, I discovered that the fonts I lacked were already present on my computer, yet not in the correct place. The fix was simple.

The following worked for me (using BPBible 0.4.4 on Windows XP) and may well work for others.
