Feature requests

Copy text as formatted.

Hi and thank God and you for your efforts in making another Bible program.

With bpBible i was looking for a quick verse and search term lookup app, and bpBible seems to be filling that need. But one thing i need is the ability to copy the text as formatted, which would render italicized words in the KJV as such.

ANOTHER FEATURE REQUEST_HOW TO EDIT BIBLES HERE?

can this software be made into a bible projection software? So this be a big help in projecting bible verses in the LCD...

another thing, is there anyway to edit bibles used in this software?

Portable Linux

I would love to see a version of BPBible that can just be run on Linux without installing Sword, wxPython, ... Could those libraries be distributed with the program for a portable Linux setup?

I'm not sure how hard this would be... might take a look at it if this would be a possibility.

Verse Comparison: Open to chapter rather than verse and stay in sync

I notice that when I close BPB and open it again that the verse comparison defaults to single verse view. I have to click on the chapter or book. My preference would be for it to open to the largest unit possible with the current highlight verse in focus.

Another thing is that I always expect the verse comparison to jump to the verse I have clicked on in the main window but it doesn't. That seems like it would be nicer if it stayed in sync with the main window.

Hotkeys or Shortcuts

Has there been any talk or thoughts on adding hotkeys to the program? For example adding 'ctrl + s' to open up the Strongs. Or even adding a right-click option with the mouse for some of the Tools like the Strongs?

It would make it so much easier than having to use the mouse to go up to the Tools, click on it and then go down to the Strongs line and click on it. (I am just using the Strongs option as an example.) :)

Just a thought.

User Friendly for Restrictive Countries?

I live and work in an open country among a "closed" people group. Minority languages can now easily be converted from the translator software to the sword format using linux's Bibledit. BPBible portable program is looking great for distributing minority language scriptures, especially when a USB drive costs less than $2.

Personal Notes Section

This program has many features, but one that I use in other programs is a note taking section. If this could be visible at all times. Also have a section that is linked to verse so that a personal commentary could be made. I understand the tagging feature and think that it is a great idea for topic but not note, also it is not visible all the time. I would also like the ability to print the notes or commentary notes.

Guess the verse suggestion

First of all I’d like to say that the Guess the Verse feature is a great addition to the tool. I’ve been planning to develop something like that but I guess you folks beat me to the punch. I have a few suggestions that you might want to consider:

  1. Show Correct Answer button: That’s be helpful if you want to note down the verse… uhm… coordinates? (is that what that’s called?) It’s frustrating specially if you want to look at the verse in context and you can’t figure out where it came from. (And I usually can’t find where it came from without using search :s)

Display option

Love the portable app format. Could use the option to view Bible verse by verse instead of paragraph style. Thanks

Dennis

Print Feature

Just wondering why there is no print feature?
